Please read these booking conditions carefully, by making a reservation with us you confirm that you have read and agreed to the following policies. If you make a booking after that, it means that you are accepting the terms of our conditions.

For COVID pandemic time bookings if you have to change your tour dates due to getting infected with the disease or due to airline or other operators/agents cancellations we can change your trip dates without surcharge until twelve months after the trip finishing date.

All tours have to be pre-paid by clients.

- At booking moment Guanguiltagua requires a 50% (fifty percent) deposit of the agreed amount. The remaining balance has to be transfered to our bank account in Ecuador, two months prior to the departure of the tour.

- If the booking has short notice (less than two months in advance) we require full payment, since often we can not make reservations without full payment. Tickets and vouchers will never be issued unless full payment is received.

- For Galapagos cruises and Galapagos Land Programs we will require an initial deposit of 65% since we have to pre-pay Galapagos operators right after locking your spaces at hotels and boats.

- If the client, for any matter that is not responsability of our company, decides to change the dates of the tour, then we will charge a 20% penalty fee to the final trip price.

- If the booking corresponds to an special promotion we will require FULL PAYMENT IN ADVANCE, no matter how early is the booking.

- We receive our payments via wire to our bank accounts in Ecuador and Peru. After the final tour itinerary is agreed by the client we deliver an email that contains our bank account information for the transfer, which is totally SECURE. Each wire has a USD 35 surcharge fee if your wire comes from the Americas, USD 60 if your wire comes from Europe and USD 80 if your wire is send from Asia, these fees are the standard ones respectively charged from our banks in Ecuador and Peru. This would be added to the tour final price by us.

- Credit cards are accepted only on-line through PayPal system with 13% surcharge.

When Paying trough PayPal either if you use your bank account or your card, you have to add a thrirteen percent (13%) surcharge which is the fee that PayPal takes from our account when transfering money to our company in Ecuador and Chile. - Bank transfer is a SECURE payment. All of our former customers can confirm this.

Cancellation policies:

  • Cancellations received more than 180 days prior to departure – 25% of total tour payment will be forfeited.
  • 179 – 120 days – 35% of total tour payment will be forfeited.
  • 119 – 60 days – 50% of total tour payment will be forfeited.
  • 59 – 0 days – 100% of total tour payment will be forfeited.
  • For itinerary or date changes within 30 days prior to the start of the tour Guanguiltagua requires a 20 percent penalty fee of the total tour amount.

Any tour either operated by us or sell by us in the Ecuadorian, Peruvian, Bolivian, Chilean or Argentinian Mainland and Seas Territories can suffer changes into its itinerary or cancellations due to natural events like volcanic eruptions, hurricanes, storms, drouts, floods, earthquakes or tremors, city fires, forest fires, or conflicts like strikes, civil war, guerrilla attacks, international/national belic conflicts or air strikes performed by international or national regular or irregular armed forces, terrorist attacks and regular criminal activities; this in order to preserve the life and shape of our passengers (our most important value) and workers as well as acets.

If any cancellation or itinerary change happens derivated out of any of these events Guanguiltagua S. A will not be entitled to any partial or total refund.

Guanguiltagua Expeditions S. A. is not an owner of any boat in the Galapagos, we are only agents. Cruises in the Galapagos depend on weather conditions and natural risks of the navigation, as well as National Park regulations, therefore any cruise itinerary can be changed, delayed or canceled, if this happens, then the local company or person who owns and runs the boat is strictly and directly responsible for damages, looses and compensations. However Guanguiltagua S.A. will help you to solve out any direct problem derivated from any of these events in the case that they happen. For this purposse we recommend that you contract your own travel inssurance before departing your home country.

Prices can variate due to government new economical policies and this can result into tax increasings, National Park fees raisings, fuel price surcharges or simply  inflation that can affect the operations and logistics costs. If this happens the boat operator and wholesalers are obligated to apply these new fees to the final prices.
