
La Paz
La Paz is one of the highest cities in the world, situated at 3600 meters over sea level (12000 feet). It dates from October 20th of 1548, when it was founded by the Spanish Conquistador Alonso de Mendoza over the remains of the Laja Incan settlement. Today La Paz is the seat of the government and not the capital of Bolivia.

Some of its most important attractions are the Mercado de Las Brujas, the Sagarnaga street, the Plaza Murillo where the government buildings like the Presidential Palace (palacio Quemado) and the Congress are located, the Cable Car, the Prado Boulevard, the Kili Kili View Place, the Austria Peak, the Valle de la Luna (Moon's Valley), the Valle de Las Animas, the San Pedro Jail, the San Francisco Church and the Metropolitan Cathedral.
