Cotopaxi Acclimatization 5 Day

This acclimatization program is designed to prepare & instruct people in high altitude mountain climbing from 4000m / 13123 ft. till 6000m / 19685 ft. With the assistance of a certified and bilingual guide, this acclimatization program increases the fitness of climbers in order to get in a better shape ending on successful climbs. On these 5 days you will reach the summit of 3 most known Ecuadorian volcanoes, including Chimborazo, the highest volcano in Ecuador! This climb offers spectacular views of the Avenue of the Volcanoes. If you do not have experience, these package is perfect for you, making you gain the necessary ability & skills to climb and enjoy some of the most beautiful landscapes of the world.

ITINERARY:

DAY 1: CORAZON or RUMIÑAHUI (4.630 m / 15.190 ft))

  • Pick up at 7:00am
  • Transfer to Corazon
  • Short briefing (climate conditions / equipment explanation / height conditions)
  • Begin ascent
  • Lunch
  • Reach summit
  • Accommodation at lodge

DAY 2: NORTHERN ILINIZAS

  • Check the equipment
  • Leave from the Lodge to Northern Ilinizas
  • Begin ascent
  • Lunch
  • Reach the summit
  • Accommodation at lodge

DAY 3: RESTING DAY

  • Rest day in lodge

DAY 4 & 5: COTOPAXI

  • Driving south to Cotopaxi National Park followed by lunch at the refuge
  • Equipment check followed by practice on glaciers (depends on weather)
  • Dinner, sleep, wake up & begin climbing
  • Reach summit
  • Return to refuge to have breakfast
  • Departure to Quito.

TIPS FOR A SUCCESFUL TOUR:
